About RES Americas

RES Americas is one of the top renewable energy companies in the country.  We have been developing, constructing, owning, and operating renewable energy projects since 1997.  With over 3,400 megawatts (MW) of renewable projects constructed, which represents approximately 14% of the operating wind farms in the US, RES Americas is a leader in this growing industry.

We encompass all the necessary expertise to create renewable energy projects; ranging from wind and solar farms and in the near future biomass and energy storage.  Our in-house expertise ensures a smooth transition, from one phase to the next, that budgeted costs are met, and the project is completed on time.

Our parent company RES Group, headquartered in the U.K., was founded in 1982 and has a long history of developing, constructing, and owning wind projects.  It is part of the Sir Robert McAlpine group, a leading civil engineering and construction business, which was founded in 1869.  RES Group has about 89 wind projects with a capacity of more than 4,911 MW around the world, of which 3,799 MW were constructed or are under construction by RES Americas.

RES Americas developed and constructed its first project in Tehachapi, California in 1999. In 2001, RES Americas co-developed and constructed the 278 MW King Mountain Wind Ranch, the largest wind project in the world at the time it was constructed. In 2006, RES Americas financed and completed construction of its first ownership asset in the U.S., the 60 MW Whirlwind wind project in Texas and in 2008, it completed its second owned project in Texas, the 166 MW Hackberry wind project.

RES Americas is deeply involved in the research and development opportunities of other forms of renewable energy, which will play a larger role in meeting future energy needs.  Currently, we are developing commercial-scale solar projects in several states.

We are proud of the expertise we bring to every aspect of business.  From development to project design, through civil and electrical engineering, to construction and project operations, RES Americas delivers quality and reliability.
