Description: CONTRACT WITH OPPORTUNITY FOR FULL TIME POSITION. Be responsible to the Site Project Manager for ensuring that all safety matters are carried out in accordance with the Company's Illness and Injury Prevention Program and Safety Management System.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor safety on site and ensure that both OSHA and other regulations and the requirements of RES Americas are being complied with; complete safety inspection documentation (daily inspection sheets and a more comprehensive weekly inspection report).
2. Ensure that the requirements of the Safety Program File are in compliance.
3. Ensure that suitable Risk Assessments are prepared for all operations under the control of the Company, where significant risks are identified.
4. Ensure that safe working procedures are observed at all times.
5. Ensure that all improving or remedial actions issued are closed out; these actions may be raised by RES Americas staff or World Services Inc (safety consultant engaged by RES Americas). A record of all actions will be kept for close out.
6. Undertake site safety inductions for new staff/ subcontractors' staff.
7. Undertake accident/ near miss investigations and ensure that all accidents and near misses are documented and reported as required by Regulations and RES Americas accident reporting procedure; complete all necessary paperwork; ensure that relevant members of staff receive copies of all reports.
8. Chair the weekly safety meeting.
9. Take minutes at the weekly safety meeting and record the actions issued and the dates they are closed out.
10. Immediately stop any work where there is an immanent danger.
11. Bring to the attention of RES Americas staff and subcontractors any activities that present a hazard to their own personnel, other personnel, operatives or the general public..
12. Cooperate with all levels of management and others in matters of safety, health and welfare.
13. Produce reports (daily, weekly, or monthly) as required by the Project Manager.
14. Undertake your work in a manner that does not endanger yourself or others.
15. Ensure that safe working practices are followed at all times.
16. Ensure that statutory forms and posters are displayed as appropriate.
17. Ensure that sufficient protective clothing and equipment is available and used as necessary.
18. Allow employees, self employed persons and subcontractors to discuss and offer advice on matters relevant to health and safety and ensure coordination of the views of employees where necessary for reasons of health and safety.
19. Set a personal example.
20. Employees must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess an appropriate valid driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record.
21. Stay current with professional and industrial best practices.
22. Must be able to work professionally with clients, vendors, employees, managers and supervisors.
23. Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the job.
24. Follow any other job-related duties/functions requested by the supervisor.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 10-15 years of proven utility or industrial experience that includes a proven track record of construction projects.
2. Needs expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the Client and will be instrumental in delivering a SAFE project while dealing with cost, time and quality constraints.
3. Preferred - STATE SAFETY TRAINING AND SOME FORMAL OSHA TRAINING.
4. In order to be considered for a full time position, candidate must have the ABILITY TO TRAVEL, living at the worksite for approximately 9 months, returning to an office location between projects. Per diems provided.
5. Skilled in MS Office and Outlook.

Education:

HS Diploma or GED.
