Supervisor: Executive Vice President, Construction

Description: This position will lead the Engineering Teams to engineer and design wind farm components such as roads, foundations, O&M buildings, electrical grid connections and electrical substations. This position will also assist in the development of in-house renewable energy projects. Works toward goal of increasing the number of successful completed projects by maintaining the company's reputation as the contractor of choice for renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and motivate the engineering teams of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
2. Ensure that the RES Americas Engineering team is at the leading edge of renewable energy project engineering.
3. Manage the teams to research and analyze data to determine feasibility of design or application to drive the in-house designs to meet procurement and construction schedules.
4. Use data to ensure that the design is completed to the requirements of the contract as well as local and national standards.
5. Broad experience in design software.
6. Manage CAD specialists to ensure drawings are consistent with industry practices, and are produced to meet schedules for material procurement and construction.
7. Produce the most efficient, cost effective designs to be used in the United States and other countries.
8. Analyze complex product design issues to resolve construction and warranty issues.
9. Conduct design review meetings with internal staff.
10. Conduct design reviews with owners' engineers for design approval.
11. Design environmentally conscious, safe projects in accordance with all applicable standards.
12. Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
13. Aid the development process by designing projects that are cost efficient, manufacturable and reliable.
14. Assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
15. Submit weekly reports on assigned topics.
16. Generate, follow and explain detailed instructions and design parameters.
17. Work with engineering and technical groups to ensure work products are within the standards and contract requirements for technical quality, accuracy, and standards adherence of engineering and design drafting for the project.
18. Stay current and familiar with changing regulatory requirements.
19. Develop complex control systems and architecture and generate schematics. Also create specs for implementing components and the overall system layout and design of complex automation systems.
20. Understand contract terms and recognize discrepancies.
21. Responsible to ensure SAFETY requirements are met.
22. Must be able to work professionally with clients, vendors, employees, managers and supervisors.
23. Follow any other job-related duties/functions requested by the supervisor.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 10-15 years of proven utility or industrial experience that includes a proven track record of managing large capital-industrial construction projects.
2. Needs expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the Client and will be instrumental in delivering on time cost effective projects.
3. Minimum 5 years of Management experience.

Education:

Bachelor degree in construction related areas such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. A Masters degree and a professional certification are preferred.
