Supervisor: Director of Procurement

Description: The Purchasing Agent will have suitable qualifications and a minimum 3-5 years of proven industrial experience with the procurement of large material and subcontract orders in excess of $2M. Windfarm or Power, Utility, Energy background is desired.

Responsibilities:

1. Procure construction materials and write sub-contracts.  Includes coordination with Engineering and Document control with respect to obtaining appropriate documents/specifications and drawings.
2. Develop very complex buying strategies. Purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedite as needed and serve as liaison between suppliers and projects.
3. Responsible for manufacturing facility Quality Assurance Audits.  As part of the RES QMS program, the Purchasing Agent will be expected to travel to manufacturing facilities to conduct quality audits periodically. They will (typically) be accompanied by a RES Engineer who will be conducting the technical audit.
4. Responsible for expediting of materials.  Must be able to develop strong professional supplier relationships in order to insure timely material deliveries to projects.
5. Responsible for Customs clearing. Develop (already established) relationships with Customs clearing agents for materials being shipped to foreign countries.
6. Plan, coordinate and actively participate in meetings with potential suppliers and subcontractors.
7. Responsible for bid evaluations:  Prepares excel spreadsheet bid evaluations to be shared with engineering and management before final awards.
8. Responsible for Construction Material Inventory.  Maintain logs and material specification sheets for inventoried construction material.  Responsible for transportation arrangements of the same from project to project.
9. Maintain project status reports: Update delivery schedules. Keep management informed if delivery conflicts arise.
10. Responsible for entering Purchase Order requisitions. Will be assigned various groups requisitioning responsibilities and follow-up of the same.
11. Introduce new ideas to the procurement process. As RES continues to grow, anticipate the additional needs of the department to stay on top of its process.

Continue to develop procedural manual to comply with ISO certification standards.

13. Employee must possess an appropriate valid driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record.
14. Ensure SAFETY requirements must be met.
15. Follow any other job-related duties/functions requested by the supervisor.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 3-5 years of proven utility or industrial experience that includes a proven track record of procurement employment for large capital-industrial construction projects.
2. Knowledge of general construction and terminology required.
3. Experience with orders and contracts in excess of $2,000,000.
4. Needs expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the projects and will be instrumental in delivering on time cost effective projects.
5. Advanced knowledge in MS Office and Outlook.
6. ABILITY TO TRAVEL.
7. Good communication skills with the ability to clearly describe the advantages and disadvantages of various designs.
8. Be self-motivated and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision.

Education:

BS Business or Engineering degree in construction related areas such as Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
